1. Finish the justification for the utopia. The justification should explain why the community decided to create a utopia to begin with. What was happening in the world that made them want to create a separate society that was intended to be perfect? (6-8 sentences)
2. Finish the two sets of rules. For specific direction to the rules click here. Remember the two questions that the rules must answer are:
1. How does this rule make sure that everyone within the community remains happy?
2. How does this rule make sure that their community will last a long time?
(If you have ten rules the highest grade you will receive is a 90. If you have twenty rules the highest grade you will receive is a 100)
3. The last part of this project will be an explanation discussing whether or not the community in The Giver was a successful utopia. Why or why not? (6-8 sentences)
